WHOSE SHOES ARE THESE?
Whose shoes are these which have been left on my back porch? Perhaps they belong to the kind gentleman who carried me home on his back after my car got stuck in the mud a mile down the road. I wanted to invite him to stay until the rain would stop falling and he could dry himself off, but he said he needed to leave, just like the husband I once had who used to wear the same kind of shoes, but he got buried with them on. Could they be a sign that someone will return one day to claim them?

Nicely done! Who knows what may happen in the future. I enjoyed it.

Hi Jackie THANKS for your compliment, I’m glad you enjoyed reading it. As I stated on the link you just pressed this is my first endeavor in writing Flash Fiction using a photo as the prompt this one has 102 words. I usually write FF using a one word prompt with a required five sentences as a response. You’re invited to look around my site. Comments are always welcomed.

Thanks Robin, I’m sure I’ll take a look around. You’ll enjoy Friday Fictioneers, they are a great bunch of people.

SHALOM Rochelle
THANKS for the welcome. I’m glad you liked my first endeavor here. I debated whether or not to use an acrostic format here, using the word SHOES as the prompt word where I use this format quite often in responding to Lillie McFerrin’s FSF prompt word each week. I now await your next photo prompt.
Have a GREAT WEEKEND !!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

HI Robin! Nice story and an impressive first effort for FF. A lot of back story and future possibilities in a few words.
Dec 14, 2013 @ 18:55:45
THANKS for you compliment and feedback. This is not actually my first effort for FF, If you take a look around my site you’ll see I’ve done quite a few FF efforts. This is my first time doing it for Rochelle’s photo prompt. I’ve been responding to Lillie McFerrin’s FSF site for almost a year and this past Thursday she used my suggestion of ALONE for this week’s prompt.
I invite you and everyone else who’s reading this to take a look around my blog, leave your comments, and consider becoming a follower/

Oh this mystery.. I really like how you build her character… but being suspicious I can’t avoid thinking that there are sinister games going on…
Dec 14, 2013 @ 22:44:11
THANKS for you comment and compliment. And as for the possibility something sinister has occurred here I can’t offer any opinion/statement as I’m the one who wrote this. I leave this point to my readers to figure out for themselves.
Have a GREAT SUNDAY !!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

So many questions are raised in this piece, but I just get the image of a woman who is lost in life, and wants to find happiness, but can’t help but cling to her deceased husband. A moving piece.

Welcome to FF; it’s a wonderful weekly challenge that is highly addictive! This is a nice first post. The simplicity of the man’s gesture and the pain and wondering it evokes in the woman. Nice job!
